CDI Systems presents premium digital collections at Boston AJS conference
Boston Massachusetts, USA, December 15th-17th, 2013
CDI Systems' Marketing and Sales director, Ms. Batsheva Porat, presented CDI Systems at the annual AJS (American Jewish Studies) conference which was held in Boston this year. The AJS is the largest and most prestigious academic Jewish studies conference in the USA while the conference is the hub of many university publishing houses and Jewish databases and collections.
Ms. Porat presented databases connected to Jewish studies – live examples of the company’s services and technology in everyday use. Among these databases is the indispensable Online Responsa Project (The tablet version of the Online Responsa Project: "Responsa on-the-go”, beta version– was released during the exhibition), The Talmud Text Database and the Van Leer publications: Journal of Levantine Studies and Identities. The ePublishing display included the web site of the Zalman Shazar Center for Jewish History and CDI’s own People of the eBooks.
“ePublishing has become a “must have” for any publishing house today. Managing stock, print on demand, reading an ebook or just selling what you have on the internet, no publisher can afford to be without it" says Mrs Porat. She added "Publishers want an easy to use end to end solution which will manage large amount of data, protect digital assets while providing end users with zero response time. This is exactly what we do- this is CDI”
Ms. Porat met with several publishers ready to make the move to this new world, but are not sure how to begin.
“I found there was a lot of interest in our e-publishing platform NetIS and what CDI has to offer both in terms of technology and services. This again made it clear to me that we are in a time of change and we are extremely well positioned to provide publishers with the right tool for the sales of digital assets in a protected environment”.
